Waiting for the time we will built our straw house in a beautiful little paradise place in primorska somewhere, let's practice!
I looks that for some more time we will still be in Ljubljana so we decided to work a bit on this beautiful old house in Rudnik.
From 12th Oktober til 20th we are isolating the roof.
With the help of Peter, a mojster of natural building working the field for a decade, we decided to make some changes in this old concrete house with natural materials. (to make it less of a fridge in the winter).
The first phase is the isolation of the ceiling. We apply a "Light Clay" , a mix of straw and glina.
The joy is to dig the hands in fresh glina from the forest, Barley bales (ječmen) from 15km away, and apply them under a wooden floor.
For sure you get baby skin on the hands (maybe a bit the nose too) from using clay and give us a good hand to finish this before the cold days come!
Feel like passing by for an afternoon?
come for a day? or two?
we do rather normal working hours, and probably not weekend...
Having little logistic capacities, it doesn't make sence to be more than three, so i would rather go for 1, 2 or 3 person at a time... and do private workshop!
So if you have some time and feel like learning about natural straw project and giving a hand,
very welcome!
